What is the Morningstar Way?
Morningstar is more than an online school.
It is a learning community built on the belief that every learner deserves an education that honours who they are, celebrates where they come from, and helps them discover where they are meant to go.
Guided by the Seven Grandfather Teachings, we combine Ontario curriculum with flexible online learning, meaningful relationships, and Indigenous ways of knowing to help every learner find their own path.
Conrad Bobiwash is a visionary educator and school administrator with extensive classroom experience, dedicated to providing a modern and adaptable learning experience for First Nation students at Morningstar Online School. bridges innovation with traditional Indigenous education in his role as leader of an Ontario Ministry of Education-inspected online high school. Additionally, Conrad is a recognized contemporary Indigenous artist, known for his bold Abstract Expressionist works rooted in the Woodland Movement, which reflect his cultural heritage and connection to his traditional homeland.

I'm Christian Bayly, the principal of Morningstar Online School, with over 20 years in educational leadership focused on primary and secondary education. I am passionate about First Nation education and committed to supporting Indigenous students across Ontario and Canada through high-quality online learning. At Morningstar Online School, we provide enriching educational experiences in a supportive environment, empowering students to reach their potential. Our dedicated team offers a range of services, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for learners worldwide.

Respect means listening before speaking, learning with an open heart, and understanding that every individual brings unique gifts to our community. By creating an inclusive environment where every voice matters, we prepare students to become compassionate leaders who contribute positively to the world around them.

At Morningstar, bravery means believing that every learner is capable of overcoming obstacles and reaching new possibilities. We understand that learning often requires students to step outside their comfort zones, try something new, or begin again after setbacks.
Our role is to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to ask questions, embrace challenges, and discover their own strengths. Every lesson completed, every goal achieved, and every challenge faced becomes another step forward on their journey.
